You can enjoy the beautiful view of Hozugawa Ravine from season to season while you take Sagano Romantic train. In spring, approximately 7.3km of the ways is lined with elegant wild cherry blossoms. In summer, enjoy the Hozukyo panorama while being cooled by the river breeze and wrapped in a chorus of cicadas. In autumn, a 25-minute journey of wonder in which glorious fall colors cloak the landscape as far as the eye can see. In winter, be enchanted by the fantastic experience of moving through a serene, white winter wonderland.

During the busy season ,we may be open before the regular business hours .It will be depended on the customers who line up at the morning.
This station is right next to JR Saga-Arashiyama station. There is a free rest area in this station. At our free rest area, we sell noodle dishes, rice balls and more that you can enjoy as you wait for your train.
There are also 19th Century Hall, Diorama Kyoto Japan and Bicycle Rental shop in this station.
There is a monument made from steam locomotive driving wheels, as well as a full Class D51 steam locomotive on display at the entrance. Inside the hall, more historical locomotives are exhibited, including a Class D51, a Class D51 and a Wakataka. As historical heritage that played a role in the development of musical art, the exhibit also includes a Bösendorfer piano, which was the piano of choice of Chopin and Liszt, an Allen Organ and a cembalo. In the Hall’s café, you can take an elegant break listening to the music of a player piano.
One of the largest model railway dioramas in Japan. This layout boasts faithful and detailed representations of ‘Kyoto-esque’ scenery such as Kiyomizudera Temple, Kinkakuji Temple, Kyoto Imperial Palace, and the Gozen-Okuribi(Daimonji festival/Mountain Bonfire).With an area of 285.15m² and 2.7 kilometers of track, it truly is big. A popular attraction is the chance to sit in the driver’s seat of a real Class EF66 and use the master controller to run a train on the layout.
The best way to explore the Saga and Arashiyama areas is by bicycle. Railwayman Bicycle Rental is conveniently located near the station. In addition to regular bicycles, you can rent pedal-assist electric bicycles that make going up hills a snap.

This station is the terminal station of Sagano Romantic train. You can get on the train to Arashiyama and Saga stations. There are a coffee shop and a souvenir shop in this station. You also can buy our original railway goods here. If you want to take Hozugawa River Boat ride or Kyobasha(carriage), please get off the train at this station.The nearest station is JR UMAHORI Station. From JR UMAHORI Station to Kameoka Torokko Station on foot about 10 minutes.
The JR Haruka limited express takes about 80 minutes from Kansai Airport to Kyoto.
It is 15 minutes away from JR Kyoto station to JR Saga-Arashiyama station by the JR Sagano line train.

This station is right next to the Sagano Bamboo Forest. And this station is near Jojakkoji Temple , Tenryuji Temple.
Get off at Saga Torokko Station.
You can drink a cup of coffee and take a rest in 19th Century Hall before you go to other popular points at Arashiyama.
- The tickets for Car No.5 [The Rich] and standing room tickets are sold on the day at our station(Saga, Arashiyama, and Kameoka Torokko Stations) at the same day only.
- Your tickets are no longer valid once you exit the train.
- All cars are non-smoking.
- If you want to cancel or change your tickets, please ask the place where you buy the tickets or ask our staff when you come to our station at the same day.
- If you want to change your seat to Car No.5, you don’t need to pay more. But please change your ticket before the train departs. And you can change your ticket one time only.
